Anywhoo.... I logged onto blogger because I have been worried about the fact I haven't blogged in a while. I was going to try and make up some random blog about my life, that is until I saw nick made a new post. I read about it and the previous and I noticed that Nick was into music from the blog and from what I see in stac. So I decide to scroll through his past blogs. Here is what caught my eye. His pictures blog. The idea of drawing out a bass caught my attention and the fact hes building a guitar. That fascinates me and make me want to learn from nick. Weather those drawings are his designs or not, it inspired me to make my own design on a guitar, and I'd would absolutely love to try and make it.
Obviously the image is a tad small. To me this design looks awesome. I'd much rather have it on a Flying V or a King V, but I don't have the money. I would honestly love to learn to build a guitar or make one better or know how to fix it. So I am asking, Nick I have a spare guitar and it is crappy. Could you help me make the design, and make it better or just teach me how to fix these things? I know I am electronically smart and I know you are to. So I'd love for this to happen. So I hope you read this blog. :D

Bobby, I'd be delighted to teach you about how a guitar works. You have a spare guitar? Bring it in soon, and I'll teach you all about the instrument. I can teach you what I know about building regarding woods, standard numbers, finishes, radius', tuners, etc. And if you want to build a guitar, great, the world needs luthiers, but unfortunately, I won't be allowing you to build that guitar as your first. We'll be keeping it simple, bud. I propose you take the finish off your guitar like I did with my bass to get a better understanding with sanding and the basic concept of a fender guitar, Fender guitar and bass bodies are the standard for every guitar out there, they're essential. Lets get to work, Bobby.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm still learning how to build from a good friend, Patrick Goodsell. Did you have Hutch as a teacher? He tought Pat how to build and all the lessons that ensue. Again, I can teach you what I know.
